About The Box Reviewers
The Box Reviewers is an independent website that publishes practical guides on how to review things well. The subject can be a journal manuscript, a business process, a product or a piece of work from a colleague.
What we publish
Each guide answers one question that people search for. It starts with a direct answer and then explains the reasoning and the steps. We cover academic peer review, business and process reviews, and the responsibilities of anyone asked to give a formal opinion on someone else's work.
How we research and write
- We read the published guidance from journals, publishers, professional bodies and practitioners before writing, and we link to the sources we rely on.
- We put the answer first and keep the language plain.
- We write our own text. We do not copy from other websites.
- We date every guide and update it when the guidance changes.
Corrections
If you find an error in a guide, please use the details on our contact page. We check every report and correct the guide if the report is right.
How the site is funded
The guides are free to read. The site is funded by advertising, which may include ads served by Google AdSense. Advertisers have no say in what we write. See our privacy policy for how advertising cookies work and our disclaimer for the limits of the information here.
